The last time I hosted a shower the mom-to-be sent flowers to my office - lovely! Another time I got a spa gift certificate ($30 or so?) and had the manicure of a lifetime.
I did a Thanksgiving/Fall theme. I purchased the Williams Sonoma Thanksgiving Entertaining Book, a burgandy baking/serving dish in the shape of a leaf, burgandy and orange tea towels, a decorative pumpkin, and some candles. I put them all in a brown basket.
I got each of my girls different things. I thought about what they each would like. For instance...my aunt loves candles so I got her Yankee candles and things like that. My sister likes to bake so I got her stuff from Williams Sonoma along with some "Auntie" stuff. I got both of our moms digital picture frames. They will be able to download pics right away and put them in the frame! I know they will love that! I also got them "Grandma" stuff, like a brag book and " I love grandma" blankets. The last hostess is my grandma and we got her a picture frame that says "4 Generations" on it along with some bath and body works stuff, (she loves bath and body!). Anyways, I would say to get them things that fit their personality, things they like and/or things they will use. Gift cards are a great idea as well!

For one shower I got my two hostesses Coach wristlets. The other shower I did a bath and body works home scent baskets for my sisters. I told them I wanted their houses to smell nice, even after my little one guy visits them. They all really like them.

As a cohost, my friend didn't give me anything!! I wasn't expecting anything from her but a thank you card would have been nice.
I hate cohosting in general!!
