Success after IF

Was it obvious to you when your baby dropped?

Or engaged in the pelvis, or whatever you call it. Or was it hard to tell?

I'm pretty sure my little guy has not dropped yet but I'm wondering if it's going to be an obvious change in pelvic pressure or the distance between my boobs and belly or something.... or will my doctor have to tell me?

After 7 failed IUIs, IVF w/ ICSI worked!!

I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.

And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!

  • Yes!  When he dropped, I could breath so much better.  He dropped around 37w.

  • I think some people can tell and others not so much.... for me I could breathe a little easier and also lost the ability to walk without the urge to put a hand over my lady bits for fear the child would fall out... there was so much pressure!!
  • I am just butting in to say HELLO!!!  I have been thinking about you... you're so close!  When does your H get home?

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

I totally agree with fearing the child would just slide out.  I always felt like I was walking around with my thighs clenched together.  ;)

  • Oh, this all sounds good. I have no pelvic pressure, and it's definitely still hard to breathe.

Kimarino--he'll be home in 2 weeks!! So that's why I'm obsessing about every contraction and whether the baby has dropped yet. :) DH has a great chance of getting here in time, but the next 2 weeks are going to drive me crazy for sure!

  • for me it wasn't so obvious... it's still a little hard for me to breathe and while I feel more pressure down there I don't feel like she might just drop out :P I actually didn't notice until someone else pointed it out to me and then I looked at my belly and thought "oh yeah, I guess she has dropped."  it's totally obvious now that I am paying attention but otherwise there wasn't an exact moment.  my MIL said it was obvious to her b/c she could breathe better and there was so much pressure down there she had trouble walking... and she delivered both DH and my SIL the same day she felt them drop!!
  • Ella never dropped, she was in my lungs until she came out, but, I carried low, if that makes sense.  Good luck!

  • I don't know if he did but it was obvious was my water broke at 33 weeks ; )

FWIW, I did have a weird backache when I went to bed last night and didn't think anything of it at the time.  I'd had two tiny pink spots and called OB who said not to worry three days before.

    Our miracle IVF baby - D 6/09 & J - Surprise! born 9/10!!!
  • oh yeah! I could breathe and I was able to lay my hand flat under my breasts and above the belly... It was at about 36 weeks for me
