I had to take them for a UTI and the doc said that is should not affect our chances, and that it is more important to take the antibiotics and get rid of what you have. BUT to call if I got a positive pregnancy test. The one they had me on was a category 3 or was it C - anyway - they can adjust it if needed at that time.
Antibiotics should only be given to treat bacterial infections, they will not help and should not be used to treat a viral illness. Did your Dr. test you to see what you have or just hand out a rx for cold symptoms?
If you told your dr. that your are TTC and he/she still prescribed the antibiotics, then I'm sure you're fine. You can call the OB if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Google the name of your antibiotic and find out what its pregnancy category is.
For the future, always be very clear with medical professionals. Do not leave it up to them to guess that it is your intention to get pregnant. The more information they have, the better able they are to make informed decisions about your care plan.
Good luck!
** Misread her comment about saying she was ttc. Only saw "off BC". My apologies.**

My doctor did not do any testing other than the normal listen to the chest and check the ears thing. This is the second time in a month that I have had sinus issues and chest congestion. I am a teacher,so illness seems to knock on my door all fall. He prescribed augmentin. I was pretty clear that we were TTC. He asked if I was pregnant now and I told him no. So we will see what happens. If it does not work out this month, we will keep trying.
I JUST got back from the doctor because my flu-symptoms were not going away and was diagnosed with an ear infection and the seasonal flu. I was given Amoxicillin. She said this will not effect TTC and gave me a side-look like I was silly for asking. :-) Ah, well, doesn't hurt to ask!
Re: Antibiotics?!
This.
Talk to your doc.
