Ear infections question

are they contagious?  DS was just diagnosed with another infection today.  it is probably his previous infection that never quite cleared up.  but we have a busy weekend coming up and i want him to be able to do everything.

    Brandon was diagnosed with one today too and the pediatrician said he can go to the babysitter tomorrow.
    Conceived twins with IVF January 2008. Lost baby a at 20 1/2 weeks due to premature rupture of membranes and held onto baby b. Baby b (Brandon) born at 26 weeks and 1 day on July 5, 2008.     Nope. Ear infections are secondary to another issue (virus, etc) so as long as there is no active virus, there's nothing contagious going on.
