I have "Pop" set up to call my dad, which is really cute instead of Grandpa. What's a cute matching name for LO to call my mom?
Mom mom? not so sure...too close to mom
Nana? too close to Nanie, which I called my grandma
Anyone think of anything else or have something lined up I can "steal"?
Thanks!

My husband's parents are "Gigi" (her name starts with a G) and Poppy.
my former boss and mentor was from Holland (so cute with her Dutch accent) her grandchildren call her Oma (like Oh m-ah).
my mom loves it so much thats what she wants to be called.
I have a Grammy to go with PapPap.
My dad is G.Pa and step mom is either G.Ma, WeeMa, or Mimi... those are the ones we've tried out. Not sure what she chose.
My mom is MamMaw.
MIL is just Grandma.
FIL is Pappy and SMIL is Granny.
Tales of the Wife
My parents are already a Nana and Papa, and FIL is called Pops by DH and BIL, so that will just stay the same.
We're thinking for MIL, memaw or grammy. I think you should ask them what they'd like to be called!
I always called my grandma "mawmaw." My cousin's girls call one grandma meme (meemee) and the other naenae (long a's), and call their grandpa bop bop. My DH's nieces call theirs nana and papa. I can't figure out what we will call my parents either. Dad doesn't want it to sound old. He is so proud to be almost 60 and still have black hair! I hope more people answer so I can get ideas too!
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
My dad is Poppy and my mom is MeMe already...
MIL wants to be called Grammy and my FIL is a big-shot doctor in a mid-life crisis and would rather not be a granddad( He thinks he's too young at 54.) Urrgghhh.....But he and MIL are not married anymore so we rarely see him and he may just be called by his name or grandpa.... lol
I've always called my grandmas grandma, and my grandfathers papa or grandpa. A good friend of mine has always called her one granmother "grammie doll".
my parents are gigi and my dad's first name
IL's are mimi and pop
Probably no help to you but my mother's name is Barbara and all the grandkids call her "Bobbi" (a nickname for Barbara). She was 53 when she first became a grandmother and didn't want to feel 'old' with grandma or nannie.
We have a regular three ring circus with both of our parents being divorced!
My mom and her husband are Grammie & Poppi
My dad and his wife are Papa & Grandma Cindy
FIL and his wife are Grandpa Fred and Grandma Sue
MIL is Naples Nana - she lives in Naples FL, and somehow it just stuck!
By the way, my dad's wife HATES that we call her Grandma Cindy - she thinks it's insulting that we don't have a cute name for her. Ugh... another story for another day.....
My mom is pissing me off because of this. She started joking around at the beginning of the PG that LO was going to call her mommy since I'll be at work all day and she was watching the baby. I said "in that case I guess LO's going to a day care". She hasn't opened her mouth with that comment anymore.
Now she's saying she doesn't want to be called grandma because it's too old sounding and she's only 56. I call my grandparents Me-Ma for the grandmothers and Pe-pa and Pop-Pop for the grandfathers. She vetoed Me-ma as well. Then she read online that some people call their grandparents Bella or GiGi. I said no way, you're not Italian OR a stripper.
So now it's a big issue because she doesn't know what she wants to be called. My IL's wants to be called Grammy and Pop. They are the same age as my mom. I don't know what her issue is.
My 365 Blog
My parents are Nonnie and Papa
DH's parents are Mimi and Peepaw
My paternal grandmother was Dutch. We never called her Oma, but her great-granddaughter did (my cousin is much older than the rest of us). My mom is currently campaigning to be called Oma. She does not have a drop of Dutch blood in her, but she thinks it sounds better than Grandma. I keep threatening her with "babushka"
For the OP, do you have a cultural tie-in? Maybe that would work.
My DD calls my mom Gee...we didn't tell her to call her that she just started and it has stuck...I kinda think it's cute!!
and that's pronounced as a g not a j
I'm hispanic, and my husband is Lebanese, so we go with heritage here:
My Dad: Poppi (Mexican)
My Mom: Nana (our version of "Nina" which is a Spanish term of endearment)
His Dad: Jido (Arabic for Grandfather)
His Mom: Teta (Arabic for Grandmother)
Good luck!
My mom also says that she's too young to be a grandmother (she just turned 40 a few days ago) and she always gets mad when I call her Grandma when talking to my dog! She thinks she wants to be Mimi which I'm ok with. My dad is ok with Grampa or Gramps and he's ok with his age (he's 47). We'll see what my mom figures out.
MIL and FIL will be Abuela and Abuelo, since DH is Guatemalan and they only speak spanish, so it fits!
My dad wants to be called Pops and my mom wants to be called Grammy ("Because I'm NOT a Granny!")
I loved my Poppa-John. I sure do miss that man.
My aunt's grandchildren call her MiMi
It's obnoxious.
My grandma wants to be called Great-MawMaw. Umm.. no. My kids will call you MawMaw like everybody else does.
