  • It was $14, what's not to like??!!  Comparable easels are like $80.  Honestly though, we've only used the paper (which is a separate $5), and Lucas did draw on it and seemed to use it, but then he got distracted by the roll itself (or unrolling it...).  I'm not brave enough to give him dry erase markers, even supervised.  And I haven't done the chalk board yet cause I can't find a stinking eraser!!!  Seriously, buy the pack of chalk with the eraser at Ikea, because no one sells an eraser.  I bought my easel OOT over the summer (no local Ikea), and I haven't made it to the teacher store in town to get chalk and an eraser, so we really haven't used the easel much.  But it is more of a "he's just not that interested in that yet".  The easel itself is sturdy (as much as it could be), it looks nice, and it serves its function.
  • We love it! DS has only drawn on the chalk side- we just use a baby wipe to clean it. DS will even ask for a wipe then clean it himself. I'm loving the chalk b/c DS loves to draw but all of the other things we have tried (markers, pencils, crayons, etc) make way too big of a mess. He was constantly trying to draw on everything, and it wouldn't always come off. I like the chalk b/c if he does end up drawing on something he's not supposed to (we always supervise him, but it happens), it's no biggie. It just wipes right off.
  • We just bought one for Christmas and I think as often as she'll probably use it's perfect. I love that it's wood, I love that you can get the paper roll on top for easy storage, I love that it has 3 options for art... I did get their chalk but I have no idea if it came with an eraser... doh didn't even think of it yet!

I'm waiting until Christmas to bust it out, I hope she'll be into it, but I'm starting to think maybe 2 is more likely. Still, I'm happy to have it - for $15 and to have it be wood and VERY simple was a huge bonus for me.

  • Cool, I think I'll head to Ikea this week. I didn't want to spend a lot b/c who knows how much she'll use it. Looking to add it to her playroom, that I have yet to start on...

  • I like it too.  Katelin has only used it a couple times but she has fun. We got the paper roll and she colors on it.  My only complaint is that the crayon/marker/chalk tray is only on one side (chalkboard?) so when we're using the paper roll, she can't reach the crayons if I put them in the tray.  Maybe I'm missing something but that is the way it seems anyways.

But yeah, for $15.. LOVE IT!
