if you're pronouncing it like LC you should spell it in a way that invites that type of pronunciation. as is, your spelling makes it looks like Elise, not Elsie.
it's a cute name to look at but i'd never assume it was pronounced LC by the arrangement of the letters. rearranging it to ellsye makes more sense, but it's also a tragic spelling and would make your kid look like her name is bullseye... so don't do that
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

Yeah, I pronounced Ellyse as uhl-eese. What about Elsie, Else, Elsy.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Ellyse is definitely just a youneek spelling of Elise. If you want it to be said like LC, change the spelling to the tradition Elsie. No one would have problems with pronouncing that.
If you want it pronounced like LC, spell it Elsie.
I never understand why people decide they want a random pronounciation of a name. Elyse/Ellyse by no stretch will ever be said as LC. Basic phonics. Why would you set you child up for a lifetime of it being said "wrong"?
As a side note, I met a woman in her 40s the other day named Regina. Silly me assumed it would be pronounced like the city of Regina. Nope. It is raw-geena. She got all snappy and defensive as she corrected me. Guess no one ever says it right and she is a little touchy about it....
I think Elsie is a cow name. It's not a bad name, it just reminds me of a cow. And your spelling--the random second L and the completely random Y make me sad.
If you want it pronounced like LC, spell it Elsie.

I'd probably be defensive about the pronunciation too if my name rhymed with vagina.

Re: How about the name ...
Hmm...I think the spelling is off if you want it pronounced "LC". I read the name as being pronounced "El-ee-s".

This. Absolutely.
Not sure how that equals "LC".

Ditto.
Agreed.
WHat you have there is the name El-leese. L-C is spelled Elsie.

this but if you want LC- and a kreatif spelling do ellecee
Yes, this. I think Elise is very common these days too. NMS, but definitely re spell if you want people to pronounce it correctly.
I'd probably be defensive about the pronunciation too if my name rhymed with vagina.
She'll spend the next 90 years of her life telling people how to say her name.
I thought that was Elise just spelled awful.
If you want to call her LC just use the letters...and then everyone will think she is named after The Hills character.
Agreed
I wouldn't pronounce that as LC, unless the y is supposed to be silent? I like the sound of it though, but only spelled Elsie.
Ellyse does not spell LC, and never will.lol.
Other options would be: Ellsee, Elsie, Elsy, Ellcee, Elsi, Ellcee....
