Do you take colace?

in 3rd Trimester

I haven't thus far, but I bought some today thinking that it would be good to start to make things, um, easier on myself after delivery. If you take it, how much do you take?

And incidentally, Walgreen's had it in a locked case. WTF?!?! Who steals stool softener?!?

    Yep, it will make it easier after little one arrives...(Speaking from experience Wink)  I take one pill, once a day...you can take two if you need more...anymore then that, I would ask the pharmacy or doc...

    In a locked case???  It's not expensive...maybe to watch for those with eating disorders who may steal or purchase a bunch to use as a laxative???  Yikes!

    Hahaha... I haven't had a problem with this in a while... but in first tri-into second tri I was taking dulcolax like it was candy. My OB (at the time) told me to just keep upping the dose, but it wasn't working. I haven't taken it since.

    I don't think it was the ducolax's problem... LOL. I switched PNVs and upped my water intake drastically and it went away. My OB didn't understand why the dulcolax wasn't working.

    This doesn't answer your question at all I just realized. Oh well.

    i do take ducolax and it does help. But i also have been drinking A LOT of water and sometimes a glass of Metamucil.

    What is colace? And im going to be constipated once LO is out???? Indifferent I thought I had it bad right now!

    For after delivery I was told to take 2 per day - 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening

    It's not constipation I'm worried about . . . I just don't want anything . . . hard coming out of that general area after I have the kid. Colace is supposed to soften things up!

    I take it 2x a day, and I started at about 24 weeks. I am just trying to prevent hemmies. So far, so good... but I'll let you know if I get any during labor!

    Yes, I have taken them and they work really well.  Haven't had to take any in a while, so I have been lucky.
