I want to do something for the kids in Parker's class at daycare for Halloween. Something creative, not too expensive, but not the ordinary cupcakes. Ideas? TIA.
You'll need clear plastic cups, orange or green Jello, gummy worms and crumbled Oreo cookies. You can refrigerate the Jello right in the cups- place a gummy worm in the bottom of the cup before refrigerating. When the Jello sets, place a layer of crumbled cookies on the top and place a few gummy worms 'crawling' out of the 'dirt.' Kids love this easy Halloween party treat! You can even add a (dollop of whipped cream) ghost on top with mini chocolate chips for eyes!
Since the kids will be busy playing, they may not stop long to eat. One easy way to provide Halloween party food for kids is to create a huge bowl (or plastic pumpkin) full of Halloween snack mix. Start with a box or two of Count Chocula or Frankenberry cereal- they aren't always easy to find, and are only out at Halloween. Other cereal brands sometimes come out with a special Halloween blend as well. Add candy corn, raisins, small marshmallows, small pretzels, chocolate chips or other treats to the mix. Kids will have fun 'grazing' at this yummy snack bowl all night!
1 13-oz. package lemon-lime Kool-Aid 1 cup sugar 8 cups water 1 can frozen orange juice concentrate 4 cups ginger ale Worm cubes (ice cubes with gummy worms frozen inside) 3 scoops orange sherbert
This sick-colored punch looks disgusting but tastes divine. Empty the Kool-Aid package into a punch bowl. Add the sugar, then the water and stir until dissolved. Stir in the orange juice. Just before serving, add the ginger ale and worm cubes and float the scoops of sherbert on top. Before long, the punch will be green and infested with worms. Serves 14.
Everything else I'm finding looks like it might be to much for 2 year olds. BOO I'll keep looking But when I go eat all the cake in my fridge I'm blamming you ok?

Not to be a downer, but you may want to check with your daycare about their food policies. My daycare requires that everything be store bought. If you think about it that is a good thing! Stores have food safety regulations...homes do not.
Love the worms in dirt idea...I was going to suggest the same....Cute because the kids can "fill" the own cups...You can do it with pudding also not just jello!
I was going to suggest those, too. I can't wait to make them!
If you're looking for something healthy(ish), you could do apple slices with individual cups of caramel or peanut butter. They even sell pre-bagged apple slices if your school requires things to be store-bought. And fun plates/napkins, too!
Warning
No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
I have a betty crocker fall baking booklet, that has great halloween things in it. There are some adorable frankenstein pops (brownies I think)...I'll try to find the recipe online.

LOL, it is ok, I understand. Thanks for looking.
Look on Bakerella.com. She has lots of little stuff, like cake lolipops, mini pies...
ETA.. I think these are cute, and probably pretty easy.
