I'm not sure too many come here frequently, but almost all the local girls I know from TTTC have now had successful pregnancies and check in on SAIF once in a while.
I have PCOS and have gotten pregnant twice now, once with Clomid and once (unintentionally) without medication. There is definitely hope with the treatments available these days. Good luck with your RE appt!

I have to agree with this. I think most are on the infertility board if still TTC or on SAIF.
7 weeks pregnant after TTC for 13 months. I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis in April, had laprascopy for a cyst on my ovary/endo in June, and became pregnant in September! The pregnancy was somewhat unexpected, I didn't O until day 38 of my cycle, and next cycle I was going to start on Clomid. So I conceived naturally even! I'm really hoping that this is it and this baby sticks
Good luck Ashley, are you seeing an RE? Where are you going?

We had been trying for a year now and are now 6 weeks pregnant!
In July I found out that I had a grapefruit sized dermoid cyst on my left ovary and had an emergency laporotomy to remove it. Was off TTC for 6 weeks, but then started Clomid and 1st cycle worked for us!
My dr was able to look at my temp charts and see that I was O too late in the cycle and the Clomid helped to regulate the cycle and sure enough I O'd on Day 14 and we're now pg!
I see you have an appt set up at a RE.. that's the first bog step! I loved when I went to ours, and felt so good about having a plan. They did bloodwork I think, and found out I had hypothyroidism so I got started on some meds. Then we did Clomid because I appeared to ovulate on my own, but just to give a better ovulation. So that might be something they try with you. It worked on our 3rd cycle, twice!
As far as advice, I really think you're doing the best thing by going to a specialist and being proactive. There are lots of success stories around, esp on Success after infertility. Keep your eyes on the prize.. good luck!!
Thanks everyone for your advice/encouragment. I've been lurking on the infertility board quite a bit. I have an RE appointment at the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Minneapolis next Friday afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm kind of nervous about what the outcome will be, but at long as it puts us one step closer to starting our family, I'll be happy! Thanks again everyone!

I have an 11 year old daughter that was not planned.
Dh and I started ttc in December 2006. We got pregnant in March 2007. I miscarried at 5 weeks. We started trying again a month later and I did not get pregnant again until April 2008. I lost that baby too. It took another 7 months to get pregnant again. That baby is now 10 weeks old!!
I'm sorry you are having trouble. I hope you get your lo really soon. Good luck!!
If you are open for alternate solutions, I have had a great experience.
We
had been TTC for over a year with no luck. After numerous tests and
scans, it was determined that I had only one open fallopian tube. I am
also over 35, so it is just harder anyway for me. I tried Clomid and
did conceive, however m/c in Feb '09. We had been TTC for about 1.5
years by this point and I was very confused and frustrated. I went to
the U of M Reproductive Medicine Center and had a consultation with a
specialist there about my problems. He recommended that I have surgery
to correct my fallopian tube issue. However, I was very nervous about
the surgery and there were a lot of questions about it being able to fix the problem or not, and I ultimately decided against it.
I have a friend
who had had 5 miscarriages before having a set of twins using no
standard fertility treatments. She swore up and down to me that her
trying acupuncture and Chinese medicine is what helped her to have her
twins. I found a practitioner in the Twin Cities who specializes in
acupuncture and Chinese medicine for fertility issues. I had a
consultation, then started a regimen of daily Chinese herbs and weekly
acupuncture. She had me wait TTC for 3 months until the treatments
could have a chance to work on my issues. Literally, the first month we
could TTC again, my husband and I conceived! I am now at 19 weeks and
credit all of it to my practitioner. We had been trying for 2 years,
and I still have a fallopian tube issue, but the Chinese practitioner
helped us TTC in one month of trying. I couldn't recommend her more:
My friend who had all the miscarriages had lent me a book which is
what really got me to pursue this course of treatment. Here is the
Amazon link, and you can see what other reviewers had to say about how
well it worked for them:
They also have the book at the Mpls Public Library, so you could check there first.
Whatever you end up doing, good luck!
