I'm hoping you ladies can help me with something ...
I went in 11 days ago for my first ultrasound and the baby appeared to be "around 5 weeks". I took clomid, but we were out of town around the time I ovulated and I wasnt monitored, so I don't know when I ovulated exactly. Based on my LMP I would have been about 5 weeks and a couple of days at that point, so I was ok with that response.
They told me to come back in 3 weeks, but my husband is leaving to go out of the country tomorrow and so my doctor said to come in before he goes. I went back in today and the baby is only measuring 6 weeks 0 days, when we were expecting something closer to 7 weeks. We did see a heartbeat, which was reassuring.
Have any of you had a similiar experience where you measured 1 week behind and everything was ok afterall? He basically gave me 2 possible outcomes -- 1) I ovulated later and everything is fine or 2) the baby isn't growing properly and it could indicate a problem. Needless to say, I'm really worried! I go back in 2 weeks to see if the baby is growing, which is forever to wait and just wonder ![]()
Re: Baby measuring 1 week behind?
At my first apt I was measuring about 5 days behind with a hb.
The second appointment I was about 2 days behind.
My EDD has been April 17 19 22 or 25
did the doctor tell you the 2 possible outcomes or did the technician? If it was the tech guy, call your doctor.
It's possible you're just earlier than expected so try not to freak out too much. You saw a heartbeat and a little baby blob so that's good news. You didn't see that on your first u/s.
Hang in there. Make sure to update us in 2 weeks after your next u/s.
when i went in for nt scan 2 weeks ago, i thought i was 11 wks 3 days but baby was measuring about a week behind how far i thought i was. i have another u/s tomorrow so I am wondering if baby will still be behind. GL
