WTH is with all the ladybugs?!

There are swarms of ladybugs outside my house!! Apparently my basement door isn't airtight, because I just vacuumed at LEAST 100 around the door.    I'll go take a picture to PIP....  What on earth is going on around here? Is anyone else having this problem?!?!?

I am in NY and just had to call DH b/c there are literally thousands of them covering our house!!!!

OMG! DH just called and said there was a swarm of them on the front of my house. Umm weird? I heard they were good luck. Lol

I have this too, I forget what month but we can't even open the door to the backyard, they are everywhere! I think they are mating or something.

in NY, our house is covered too!

we usually get them when it's warm at this time. they tend to flock at our big palladium window. it's very gross! I haven't noticed many although there are some outside our door.

I'm in Nebraska and it is attack of the ladybugs yesterday it was SO bad.. then today i went outside to get something and their are i kid you not thousands of them dead on the ground.. it is CRAZY!!

I'm in MA and we have them.  To make it worse we are having major construction going on so its like an open invitation to them to come on in.  Thankfully most of them are upstairs where we are not living, I don't mind a lady bug or two but when they are in such large quantities its a bit creepy!

They are not ladybugs.  They are Japanese beetles and if you kill them the orange will stain your paint or cloth.  We have a few but so far not an infestation (MI).
