When does 6 weeks start?

I know sounds like a dumb question.  I thought your six weeks after delivery went week to week.  For example, my daughter was born on Thursday the 10th of September.  I thought the 6 weeks would end on Thursday the 22nd (this Thursday).  Then I was taking Friday off and returning Monday.  My work just called and told me my 6 weeks is up tomorrow (wednesday).

    your way sounds right to me, but if you weren't at work on that Thursday, it would start on Wednesday and they would be correct.  Thursday to Wednesday = 7 days.

    If your first day out of work was a Thursday, then your first day back to work should be a Thursday

    Thursday through Wednesday =  1 full week

    DC were born on a Tuesday.  I took off 12 weeks, and I am scheduled to run on Tuesday, 12 weeks later.  Tues-Mon is a full week or 7 days.
