Matching outfits?

If you have 2 (or more) DC of the same sex, how often (if ever) do you dress them in matching outfits-like the same outfit in different sizes?

I guess I hadn't thought much about it, and never thought I would dress them the same except for matching "Big Sister" & "Little Sister" shirts I bought them.  But my mom and MIL having been buying EVERYTHING they can find that comes in 0-3mo and 3T.

I will use the clothes, and appreciate their enthusiasm and thoughtfulness, but I won't be dressing them in the matching outfits on the same day very often, except for the occassional picture.

Re: Matching outfits?

  • I never have, never will.  I didn't even know you could buy clothes that matched in those sizes.  I'm having a hard enough time finding coordinating things for the girls to wear for pictures.
  • Embarrassed I do this. So far, they only have two outfits that match, but I'd love it if all their clothes matched. In all fairness, my 2 year old really loves it when they match, so it's not like I'm forcing something that she doesn't want. I'd only do it until one of them formed an opinion on it, I guess. I think it's cute, though!

  • I do more coordinating than matching.  My girls LOVE to be dressed alike though (they are 5 & 21/2).  They have the same pink coat & pink shoes and when one wears it usually the other insists too.  How can I refuse?  They won't like the idea for long.

  • I do it probably once or twice a week, don't see it as a big deal.  They look cute.

  • I love matching outfits for holidays and pictures. But my girls are too big for them now. I can still get away with coordinating outfits for the big holidays.

  • not the same exactly but my mom will have 3 granddaughters come Christmas.  She is insisting they match for everything.  I would prefer coordinating outfits myself, and if I have another baby I will probably not match them to DS and DD but coordinate.  Although I don't turn down free clothes, so if they were given to me I would dress them alike.

  • My mom used to dress my sister and I alike as children and even though we are three years apart people used to think we were twins when she was 4 & I was 7 and so on.  I hated it and was always so mad when we had to wear the same outfit, I will never do that to my children...if I ever have two of the same sex in close ages.
