Baby Showers

Quick Question

My first baby shower is this weekend, and we are taking our little guys stuffed animals to decorate with. My concern is people are going to think they are favors or something and take them. Does anyone have an ideas on how we could let people know that those are animals we have collected for our LO so that they dont?

Re: Quick Question

  • I've never heard of anyone taking decorations with them. Favors are usually obvious, so if they are used as a decoration I don't think you'll have a problem. Also, if you already have favors for the guests they will not be taking the animals
  • Well, if they aren't sitting in a basket by the front door, I doubt people will think they are favors!  I can't imagine going to a party and seeing animals around the room and assuming I can take one.

  • Can one of your hosts say something about how cute the LO's toys are?
  • I highly doubt people would take the stuffed animals.  They will think they are the baby's.  Unless, of course, you have kids at the shower.  If that is the case, I would not decorate using the stuffed animals.  If no kids and you are still concerned people will take them...maybe have someone (host) make an announcement that your LO is contributing his stuffed animals to be used as shower decorations.
  • You could put a cute decorative tag around the animals necks that say To: Baby --------

    This.

But like other posters said, I doubt anyone will take the stuffed animals, especially if you have other favors.

  • We used stuffed animals as decor at my shower and no one thought they were meant for them.
