Potty Training HELP!!

My DS is 2 1/2 and doesn't want to wear diapers or use the potty.  I don't know what to do.  It's making me so frustrated. I don't let him know that but I'm at my wits ends with this.  Help please.

Don't stress and don't force it. He will do it when he is ready. He is still a little young and boys I hear train harder/longer then girls. Just keep offereing the potty to him. Praise him when he does go and make a huge deal out of it. Also try rewards...We have DD ALOT of smarties when we started potty training. lol. GL! And just remember he won't go to college in a diaper!

First - it's AWESOME that he doesn't want to wear diapers.  That's half the battle already won!

That's your currency.

What DOES he want to wear?

Take him to the store and let him pick out some super cool undies.  Get at least 7 pairs that he really likes or you'll be doing laundry daily.

Get some plastic pants.

Get some very plain underwear (solid color, no decoration).

Put him in the ugly underwear with plastic pants and sweat pants on top (for containment purposes).

Tell him he can wear the super cool underwear he LOVES once he uses the potty.

Put him on the potty every hour.  Set a timer if you have to.

 

Or... find his real motivation.

For DS #1 it was M&M's.

For DS #2 he could have cared less about M&M's but would BEG to go use the potty to get a small balloon (water balloon blown up with air while he sat there peeing).

 

Seriously.... the fact that he wants out of diapers is HUGE.  Use it to your advantage!

Oooh! I am trying some of these tips!  Bone Jr. doesn't want to wear a diaper anymore, he wants "big boy pant!!!!" However he doesn't like sitting on the toilet.
