Would it be weird?

I live out in NC and all of my family and friends live in MN.  My sister wants to throw me a shower when I'm visiting for Christmas because I might not be able to make it out there again until after the baby is born, but I'll only be about 15 weeks then.  Would it be weird to have a shower so soon?

I've heard of many people doing this because of that reason. I personally wouldn't want to, because it was impossible for me to buy anything until i knew the sex of my LO. But its not stupid.

I would wait to send invites until out of first tri, but it's not a totally crazy idea.  I would probably keep it to family and close friends, though.

What if she made it more of a celebrating pregnancy rather than baby shower? I am sure people won't think twice and question your having the shower so soon.

In that type of situation, no one is going to question you. They'll probably know that its the last time you'll be there before baby arrives, so they won't think its weird. When I was back home last, we had an engagement party, this time I'm going back its a baby shower, next time we'll probably do a bridal shower, and then probably the baby's first birthday after that!
