Is a womb sounds bear just as good as a mobile? I can't find a mobile i like anywhere, and the ones i do like are like, 60 dollars, which isn't in the budget right now! But, i do have a womb sounds bear that attaches to the crib and i love it.
My nephews never had mobiles and did just fine without them, all of these things they sell us are really not necessary - just bonus things.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I dont plan on using a bear because I am so paranoid about SIDS (one of my friends had a 5 mo LO that passed away from it!) so i am very anti crib clutter! However, in the candle and home furnishing department at walmart, HOMEDICS makes a sound spa machine for 20 bucks with like 5 or 6 sounds (same on as seannon suggested) and it makes womb sounds, thunder, running water, those kinds of things... I kinda want two so I can have one in me and DH's too lol my nephew has one in his nursery and it puts me out when I stay over ha ha
I have the Homedics noise machine for both kids and it works great. ?A mobile is not the same as a noise machine at all. ?There are mixed thoughts on whether to use either because they are considered sleep props, but I could care less about the no-no's of sleep props. ?If my kids will sleep, so can I and we'll all be happy. ?In all honesty, we JUST got the noise machine about 2 months ago because I noticed my kids were waking up a LOT earlier on the week days than they would on the weekends and it was because its quiet on the weekends because they can't hear us - we're asleep! ?After I got it, they both started taking longer naps and sleeping in later again (as in, from 5:45am to 7:30am now.) ?I prefer a noise machine versus something to go in or on the crib because the baby / child cannot remove a noise machine that is across the room. ?And as far as the sleep prop thing - I just make sure to bring it with us whenever we travel... and if I forget, they still sleep, just not AS soundly.
