Installing a britax?

last night my DH tried to install our britax car seat and it is so wobbly.  We used the latch system to attach it to car but it seems very un-sturdy.  Is there anything special that needs to be done.  We read the instructions and I have an appt. to go to an inspection this saturday but I could not get anything earlier.  TIA!

Re: Installing a britax?

  • As long as the part closest to the seat back doesn't move more than an inch it should be ok.  The cop who did ours said it's normal for the back to move.

  • I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I do it and it seems to work:  I sit or kneel in the car seat so that my weight really pushes it down and then I tighten the straps even more.  I can barely move it after that.

This is what I do or get behind the seat and push and pull at the same time. Mine is not moveable.

  • Thanks for the suggestions...I will definitely try the sitting in it trick.
  • Does it have a rear facing tether? That did the trick in my car. The cop who inspected it told me I did a good job installing it too.
  • I did it on Sunday.  First it was very wobbly, but then I sat on the seat and tightened the straps.  It really needed the extra weight to get it really tight.  It helped a lot.  I also used the rear tether, and it made it even tighter.  GL.
