Ok so I tested last Monday (the 12th) and BFN - so then my boobs are really sore and I am SUPER tired. So I got on and found an ovulation calculator that uses your last 3 periods to determine #1 when your period should start and also when your most fertile. So based on my last three periods I SHOULD have started on the 13th. So now I am really wondering with the sore boobs and the tireness and being a week late (according to this predictor). So I test again and still BFN - which I am not all that bummed about considering I have been drinking like a fish on the weekends in the last month - but HELLO! What the hell is wrong with my body?! Should I go to my OBGYN?!! I really don't know what they will tell me or anything. But i know when I was on the pill I was 28 day exactly. When I went off the pill to have Paige I was 28 days exactly - now I am all over the map! I am starting to get scared that Paige is going to be an only child (not that it is bad but not really what we want). Ok - thanks for listening :-)
Re: I really don't understand my body :-(
I didn't even think about that! UGH!
Those online O predictors are pretty useless unless you have textbook cycle (most don't.)
So you have no way to confirm you actually ovulated when they said you did. I bet you O'd much later than the online thing said you did... Wait another week and test again. Still negative? Perhaps you ovulated *really* late.
And remember - when TTC every phantom twinge is a symptom. Try to ignore them or you'll drive yourself nutters.
Thanks! I wanted to really concentrate on TTC this month - we haven't really been looking at O dates or anything like that - just doing it when we feel like it and if it happens it happens - which is what we did with Paige and it happened in the first month. I have not been off the pill for close to 5 months - so it just makes me worry a little. But I will try to concentrate on other things! :-)
Relaxing and 'forgetting about it' didn't get me pregnant unfortunately. I started charting and using OPKs and eating weird stuff to combat the effects of my allergy meds. I found out I ovulated a lot later than I'd been guessing. Doing all of this makes some crazy, but I liked it -- as it helped me to feel proactive, and if it was going to take more than a year, I wanted to be armed with a bunch of charts to show my dr.
But ignoring those 'symptoms' was helpful. Kept me sane during the 2ww.
Anyway, I hope it happens soon whichever route you take!
I agree. I charted this time (didn't with DS) and also used OPK's and certain supplements. I am so glad that I did chart, it made me feel better and more in control since I knew when to expect AF (or BFP!).
I had to chart and use OPKs for the last bfp and for this one as well. It's that delicate balance of feeling in control vs. driving yourself crazy. But it can also help if you're doing these things and then not getting pg after a few cycles (hopefully this wouldn't be the case!!) b/c then you have concrete info for your dr. So sorry- I know how frustrating it is when you're TTC. We got pg w/ DD by accident, when I was still on the pill, so it was so annoying when we had trouble! And don't be shy about calling your dr.- that's what they're there for
Agreed! Wanted to get preggo ASAP with this pregnancy. Thank GOD I signed-up with www.FertilityFriend.com and kept track of my daily temps and periods/symptoms/etc. We got pregnant pretty quickly! I also O much later than usual... and my cycle was 28 days this time around.
But, if you have trouble this time around, I think I mentioned this before, consider talking with your OB about PCOS. It affects many many more than ever realize, and it's sooo easy to treat. GL!
