Can't Believe This

Ok, we've been waiting since October 2nd for our director to sign off on our HS. Our SW had it completely done and we were allowed to read it and everything looks good --- but i've been calling and emailing and getting the run around on why it hasn't been signed so we can start our profile.

Well, my SW just called me and this is what she said to me : I want you to call Molly (director) and talk to her directly. I spoke with her about your HS and even after doing that I still don't understand why she is holding your HS. So, I informed the office you would be calling her today and it looks like she has a couple meetings till noon, but you may be able to get ahold of her after 10 for a short period of time.

So I asked -- well is there something missing from it. And she said no, everything is done .... but I don't understand why she's holding it. You're going to have to talk with her.

WTH???? How does my SW NOT understand after she talks and deals with this woman on every other case???

That just doesn't make any sense. I hope you are able to get a hold of the director and find out what's going on.

It sounds like it might be a situation in which she doesn't agree with the supervisor's reasons for holding back, and would rather you talk directly with the director than she (the SW) try to explain the reasoning for a decision she doesn't agree with.

Either way, good luck, and I hope you get resolution today!

I know it. NOTHING makes sense. We got to thinking - don't get upset b/c it might be something small .... but why on earth would our SW be confused if it was something small??

We've decided to make the hour drive up there and go in person. We have nothing else to do today and could shop while we're there. I'm just praying hard that something isn't terribly wrong.

I had good references on this agency but ever since we've started it's been a LONG bumpy road.

First they didn't tell us for 3 months I was too young to start with them ... so we waited a total of 6 before being "active". Then they kept telling us we were next but no one was moving up to make us a spot. Then I said we wanted our paperwork out of the way b/c we had been waiting 9 months by that time to just START! Then the HS was only supposed to take 3 months and it got dragged out to over 5 months due to fingerprint issues, references issues, and now these issues.

In between this time another couple got placement and that SHOULD have moved us up --- but they kept saying they weren't done with the HS or they still needed this or this from us. So I rushed around and did MY part.

Then my SW wanted the emails I kept from before we started where I spoke with the director about the agency AND being next in line. She wanted to "put them in our files".

I think they allowed another couple to go in front of us. But I can't be sure. Feels that way.

We're with Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri.

Quite possible. I didn't think of that .... I would hope something isn't wrong. I read the HS and everything sounded normal and fine. Not that I know much about HS's but our SW has been doing them a long time, so I don't get how it would make a difference on us?
