Trying to Get Pregnant

For those that use pre-seed

Just curious for those that use pre-seed??.Do you use it during BD time because you need the lubrication, or do you use it just as a benefit to help ensure there?s fertile-like lubrication in you?

(I hope this isn?t a stupid question.  I have not used much lubrication before.)

Re: For those that use pre-seed

  • Just for lube.  It's not meant to replace EWCM.  It is just a lube that is sperm-friendly.

  • I don't think it's a dumb question. I don't really need lube and never used it before. I used pre-seed as a way to help things out, but I think it was more of a mental thing. Also, it was after a week long sex marathon, so it was nice to use.

If you do use it, use a very little bit to start with until you figure out your comfort level.

  • Thanks, gymnst!

  • I use it to help things along, just like pp.  The instructions indicate you can use it internally to assist with things, which is why they provide the applicators.  I have also used it for lube on occasion.

  • I use it internally as a lube. With how much we've been having sex around suspected O time (especially since I never know when it may come), I find the extra moisture very helpful!

I'm not necessarily sure I agree with this.  I asked the same question when we first started TTC--whether preseed was just a sperm friendly lubricant or whether it was meant to replicate EWCM. No one knew the answer.  The box specifically says it's PH Balanced to "match fertile cervical mucus" so I actually DO think it's meant to replace or at least act as EWCM.

I typically don't need added lubricant and I always have EWCM around O time, but I use it just to make sure there's enough fertile CM.  I figure it can't hurt.

  • I certainly don't think it's made to "replace" EWCM because while it's "sperm friendly" it's still not the real thing, but if you have a shortage I believe it will help keep the sperm alive longer than they would without it. Does that make sense?
  • I have heard both things but I think the Ph thing to match EWCM just means that it's not so acidic that it will kill off the sperm.

I guess it couldn't hurt to try to use it for whatever reason you want to use it.

  • I can't remember if we used it when TTC our DD. But I plan to use it for extra lubrication and for a "boost" to the whole CM. I'll take any help where I can get it!
