Sooner rather than later

I went to the Dr. today and had my first internal exam. I am 1 cm dilated and my cervix is soft but not effaced. She seems to think I will deliver in about 2-   2 1/2 weeks . I am both nervous and excited. I thought I had at least 4 weeks left.

She also told me to eat more ice cream.

    Exciting news!  Be sure to follow doctor's orders and eat that ice cream!

    OMG - I LOVE your doctor!  

    Wow - internal already?  I had my 36 week appt. last week and they didn't do one....I imagine I'll have my first at my appt. this week (and - unfortunately - with the one doctor in the practice I don't care for...bleh).

    How exciting that you're starting to make some progress in the right direction!!!

    That sounds like the most wonderful appt ever. You find out you'll have your baby sooner rather than later AND you're told to eat more ice cream!?!?!?

    Any time a doctor tells you to eat more ice cream: LISTEN! LOL.

    Wow!  I'm going out on a limb to predict you'll go before me now!  

    I just had my first internal this week and nothing's brewing down there at all... and I'm just over 2 weeks until due date!

    mmmmmm ice cream.  Sounds like you have a fabulous OB.  

    I hope your LO gives you a little more time if you need it but how exciting you get to meet them so soon.
