Shelf life of a glow stick?

Once a glow stick is activated, how long is it good for? We have some from the Mueller Movie night and I'm thinking they are trash, but I've got some nagging thing saying they might be good again if I put them in the freezer, or is that just a myth?

I think I remember putting them in the freezer when I was little, but I feel like it only worked right when we got home?? So, if they don't glow anymore on their own, I don't think putting them in the freezer reactivates them. It has been a while since I've had a glowstick, so I'll be interested to see what everyone else has to say!

The glow lasts longer at lower temps but once expended, putting it in the freezer doesn't "recharge" it. So next time, you can put it in the freezer when they're done playing with them and bring them out the next day, but there is no saving a dead one.
