how long does it take to bake potatoes in oven?

do you just wrap them in tin foil and bake? i normally put them in microwave but it shrinks them and i thought id try the oven.

I think it takes over an hour in the oven.

Depends on the size of the potato, but about an hour.

I wrap them in foil and bake at 400 for an hour.

I wrap them in foil,  bake for 1 hr 25 mins at 425 degrees.   One hour doesnt cut it for me!

Ha!  Im so glad Im not the only one who has had to ask how to "bake" a baked potato!  

We always used the microwave to do potatoes when I was growing up.  I still havent actually baked a potato.  I nuke potatoes in the microwave.  I bet they taste so much better.  One of these days I will bake some potatoes.

I do half and half.  I start them off in the micro for about ten mins and then finish in the oven for about a half hour.
