Faulty CVS basal thermometer?

I lost my favorite basal thermometer and bought the CVS brand one... It was working fine for about a week, then I noticed my temps started dropping to 96.91, 97.20 and 97.21, etc... going on a WEEK now and not getting any higher than 97.27. ?Normally my lowest basal temp is 97.42 every month. ?

Is it possible for my basal temp to have dropped so much out of the blue?? ?My temp has never gone below 97.42 in almost 2 years and I'm wondering if its a faulty thermometer. ?I'd hate to miss a chance because of a crappy thermometer. ?I'm also charting CM and cervical position, so I'm not solely relying on my temps, but I know its nice to have that info. ?

Thoughts???

    I bought a CVS Brand one..used it for a day. I HATED it. it stunk. I went out and bought a new one from somewhere else.

    Sure, it can happen that your temps are lower this cycle than normal.  Those temps aren't inordinately low.  Test later in the day and see what temp you get - if higher, I'd say your thermometer is fine and you are just having temps outside your norm.

    I hate it too... the part you put in your mouth is really short, the beep is annoying, etc. ?I might just find a new one - the one I had before was Target brand and I LOVED it. ?Pretty sure I left it at my in laws. ?Fabulous.

    It's possible.  I agree that it could be a low battery.  I've had the CVS BBT for a year and I've never had any issues.

    I agree with Gym. Take your temp at a random time and see what it does. You can also have YH take his temp as well. Try to get through this cycle and see what happens with it. If you still aren't happy get a new one.

    I bought a brand new one and the battery was low after 2 days. I guess just because there new doesn't mean the battery is good LOL.
