"Technique"

I work at a public university and load paper applications.  I see all kinds of names but this one takes the cake.

I wonder if it's really pronounced as technique or "tech-n-q" or even, well I can't even start to spell the other way I was thinking it could be pronounced. LOL

HAHAHA.  Ok, that has to be the funniest name I've ever seen!  I didn't even know you could do that with a name!  Shouldn't it be LA-a (since - is a dash) LOL
