Affecting my CM?

I have horrible allergies and take both singular and Claritin D. Now I have read that antihistamines can affect CM, but read that people are taking mucinex and Robitussin to help with CM.

I don't understand the science. Someone help a girl out.

    If the meds are to dry up your sinus cavities (for runny nose, etc), it'll dry up all mucous including CM.

    I wouldn't take mucinex in this situation.  I'd drink loads of green tea and use some preseed.  Once you're off the allergy meds, then get back to mucinex if you like.

    I'm taking tons of allergy meds right now too and I've got much less CM then is normal for me.

    people are taking mucinex and robitussen as expectorants only, they don't have antihistamines in them.

    Mucinex thins out mucas, so it helps to thin out your CM too.  If you are taking allergy meds they can dry everything up, so the mucinex helps to make some CM.

    Ugh - I can't go off them. That's the thing. It's the only thing that keeps my allergies and asthma in check. How long does it take to get out of your system and not affecting CM?
