Do you accept bosses, coworkers, and colleagues as friends on FB?
I just accepted a former co-worker as a friend on FB, because I didn't know how to tell her no (and I felt I couldn't ignore her).
Previously, I have always used LinkedIn for my professional relationships. It keeps it clean cut - and not that I am a wild child, but I like to keep my personal life private.
WDYD?
Re: Facebook for Friends, LinkedIn for Colleagues
I have past collegues on my FB, but it depends on the relationship we had when we were working together. Any current ones are not. I will not accept current co-workers on FB.
Luckily my profile is on super secret lockdown, so no one can find me if they run a search.
However, before I was on SSL I did friend coworkers, but I blocked most of my profile including my photo albums and statuses as well as my wall.
I have a handful of people from my company, but most of them are not people I actually work with. Most of them also have different privacy settings.
I don't used Linked In. I had a profile for a while, but I never used it so didn't see a point.
Except for a couple, I have no one from work on FB. They don't need to see my pictures. I use LinkedIn as my work FB
I have a few coleagues that I'm friendly with outside of work. Those I have as friends on FB...
If it was a boss, that's another story.
I have accepted co-workers, but tend to use the "Limited Profile" for them. I don't mind having them as "friends" but obviously some things I like to keep to my personal life!
