taking DD to Disney on Ice :(

So we took DD, who is 2 1/2 to Disney on Ice for the first time. Our seats were amazing! We were in the 6th row right where the characters come in and out of the castle. As soon as we entered the arena DD decided she was scared. She continued to cry and sometimes scream for the first 30 minutes. It was SO embarassing!!!  After the first 30 minutes, she was ok, but she kept her fingers in her ears the entire show. Now of course all she can do is talk about everything she show. We were really embarassed! The only good thing was that when I looked around there were a number of other children who had their fingers in their ears. It was pretty loud but GEEZ! Not the reaction we were expecting.

Thanks for the tip!! We go in a couple of weeks. I hope DS is okay. We'll see. My sister won free tickets, so we are taking our boys (hers is 4, mine is almost 2.5) to a weekday matinee. I can't wait!! DS loves all the Disney characters, so I hope he's okay. He's scared of the movie theater, so we'll see. Yikes. Now I'm nervous! LOL. Oh well.

Awww, that stinks!  we took dd and my niece to see it at the state fair and they both loved it!  They both kept pointing and hollaring at the characters.  dd has never watched tinker bell or anything with her in it, but now she loves "princy bell" and insists that she watch it everyday.

Oh no! Tickets to DOI was going to be one of our Xmas gifts to DD. She will be 28 mos then. Oh maaaan!

I wonder if it was the arena. We went last week and it wasn't that loud.  Macy slept through the entire show.  DD and DS loved it.

DS#1 was about that age when we took him too.  He was having a great time recognizing all of the characters..until is got all dark and there was scary music when the shark (Bruce) from Finding Nemo came out.  He started crying and screaming, and even started gagging to the point that he threw up.  He was trying to climb over DH and get out of there quick.  Needless to say we only saw part of the first half   I was so excited for him to see it, but it didn't turn out well.  I was very surprised, since up to that point he never really showed a fear of anything.  Shortly after he started being afraid of going into dark rooms...wonder if there's a connection?
