the name Allison nn Allie.  I have a cousin Allison whom I used to be close with and has screwed up recently.  I am not opposed to the name but feel like may family might question. Everytime we go over names it always comes back to Allie. What do you think??

I think, If you and ur DH both like the name, then don't worry about who else has it........

I also love the name Allison with nn of Allie.  It's one of my absolute favorites!  If your mind keeps coming back to the name, I would go for it!  Don't worry about what your family may think.

Lots of names could have the nn Allie...Aaliyah and Alicia are two I like.

A perfect compromise would be to find a different name from Allison that you can still use the nickname allie with....

I have a great friend with the name, and I really like it...My question would be, How often are you around your cousin?  If you are together a lot, it might get confusing...we decided not to use the name Benjamin (which we had loved for years!) because our nephew shared the name and we didn't want the confusion in the family.

How about Allie, but a different full name so ppl (and you yourself) do not associate it w/ her?
