is this controversial? just curious. i like the look but can't find good 'faux' ones. i wear leather, but i feel a little weird about the cowhide for some reason (maybe because it looks like a cow?)

I don't think there's a problem with it. I personally wouldn't let baby crawl on it or anything. We have a deer hide on our wall. My only problem with it is that it collects dust like a mug! lol. Plus hides shed, don't want wild animal fuzzies all over baby. If your going to be "ON" it, I would get a faux one.
We plan to use a real sheep skin in our baby's pram. When we lived in New Zealand, lots of people did it. It looked so warm and snuggly, we bought one for our future baby (before they were even thought of).
Re: anyone having a cowhide or sheepskin rug in nursery?
