anyone have a "natural" teething remedy?

DS is miserable, 4 teeth coming in.  I have been giving him Hylands teething tablets, but that doesn't seem to help much.  I am alternating between Tylenol and Motrin to see if one works better than the other, but am trying not to give it to him more than 2-3 times a day/night....sometimes I wonder if it is even really helping!  Any other suggestions on what I can do??  Please, I am desperate!

  • You can use a therapeutic clove essential oil.  I mix a few drops in a little bit of olive oil and rub it on her gums.

  • drugstore.com had some teething oil which is pretty much clove oil and some other stuff that has helped us.  We also swear by our amber teething necklace.
  • Okay....you can tell I have been waking up every hour for the past few nights.  We have teething necklace and I never thought to use it!!  I will put it one when DS is up from nap!

So, the clove oil, where do I buy that?  Do I mix it with anything?

  • Hylands also has a teething gel, but I've never tried it.

Yes, I have tried this too.  DS screamed, and I mean screamed when I put it on.  Not sure why, he likes the tablets!?

  • We have not used the clove oil because the pedi advised us not to mix it with the homeopathic teething tabs or gel. We use the tabs alternating with camilia straight and that seems to work well.
