Only one baby would be so easy!

Ok, so my twins are now almost 12 weeks old, and things are starting to get easier. They have a bedtime, sleep 9 hours and then get up to eat and go down for another 3. I know, I am lucky. I have also had a hard time with my son's reflux and digestive issues and he is in pain for a lot of feedings which is very, very hard, but anyway,

I hear so many people with one baby complain how they can't shower or eat lunch and I am just confused. I feel like the entire world who has one baby is exagerating. I mean, it is not that hard, unless your child has some type of issue who cries nonstop, which my son does have for many feedings.

I am just rambling. I just find it so funny to me that people think having ONE BABY is so hard!!! Seriously ..it makes me laugh. When I take one baby to the doctor or on an errand I feel like I am on vacation!!!! There really is no point to this, I just think all of us twin moms deserve a lot of credit!!! And I don't think anyone knows how hard it is to have twins unless you have them yourself.

And to you triplet moms, there are no words. I have no idea what it is like and you are all supermoms. Really.

Re: Only one baby would be so easy!

  • i have been a "one kid mom"... and while i never thought it was that hard (Griffin was a good baby and i knew what i was doing because i had tons of experience with babies)... I still had rough days.

Now i laugh at that - and think how easy my life was then!!  Having twins + a toddler is hard! Not ONE baby!  But, alas, it's all relative... what you have is always going to give you hard moments- no matter what it is :)

  • I have said that so many times!  When I am changing Caroline's clothes for the 3rd time in the morning after she keeps spitting up and haven't even touched Jack yet I think...wow, one baby would be a piece of cake!  I know any newborn is rough, but you are right, moms of multiples do deserve some extra credit for the extra work!

  • sometimes i drop a baby at my mother's and run errands with the other baby. I love it!!  Its soooooooooo easy. Even if the baby is fussy, its still ton easier than 2 babies.

These are my first kids so I have nothing to compare it too...but  yeah, one baby would be a cakewalk.

  • oh, and i am jealous how much your twins are sleeping!  we've had a few 6-8 hour stretches but most nights, we only get a 4-5 hour.

  • If it is any consolation my one baby was MUCH harder than these two.  It really is all relative but back then I didn't know what I was doing and my son was colicky.  This time I know what I am doing and the babies are angels.  It is my tot that is killing me.

  • I know what you mean! I had a MoM "Big Sister" who talked to me about the "I laugh at your one baby" stage. I definitely went through that!!

  • Sometimes my husband takes one baby to the store and lets me just have one baby at home and honestly, it does feel like a mini-vacation.  Being responsible for two babies at the same time is just exhausting.  And my babies are really good babies.  Even one really difficult baby would probably be easier than this.
  • LOL!!  Totally agree.....soooooo true! I have NO pitty for mom's with one...not at all!!! They do not have a clue!
