Just fabulous re: washing machine

I come upstairs to switch the load into the dryer, open up the laundry room door and it just stinks like something is buring. ?Thank god it did not catch on fire but the motor burnt up. ?I had to wring out all of the clothes (which are not washed at all) and then use the shop vac to empty out all of the water. ?This sucks...guess it is time for a new washer. ?Now I have to wait for my neighbor to get home so I can borrow her washing machine.

What are the odds I can talk DH into one of the new HE front loading sets?

my parents just got the maytag front loaders and LOVE them!  my mom said the clothes are practically dry when she transfers them from washer to dryer.   in the first power bill (not a full month) the bill dropped a little more than $10.  not much ... but their water bill is down slightly too.  between this and the new a/c , they are saving around $60 a month.

The new front loader will make your existing dryer more efficient!  That totally sucks, though.
