Two Under 2

PSA: hospital visitation policy

Depending on when you are due, you might want to check the visitation policy of your hospital.  Some hospitals,  due to flu/h1n1,  are tightening their policies.

My hospital is limiting visitors to immediate family (spouse, grandparents, siblings) and siblings must be over the age of 5.  This throws us for a little bit of a loop.  Since DS will only be 19 months, we have to change our plans for having help with him.

Also, the hospital is requesting that there be no more that 2 visitors in a patients room at a time.

Of course this is just my hospital & hospitals vary but if you haven't looked into it you might want to.

Re: PSA: hospital visitation policy

  • Our hospitals are restricting all persons under the age of 18 including siblings.
  • so far my hospital doesnt have any restrictions which is great for me since i am on hospital bed rest.

  • One of our local hospitals just went to this policy and announced it on the news yesterday. F-that! I haven't gone more than a few hours away from DD let alone a couple days in the hospital! It will be hard enough only having her visit. I seriously will have to be in the psych ward if I have to be in the hospital for 2-3 days without seeing DD at all. Not to mention she's still nursing and I'm planning on tandem nursing. 2-3 days without nursing could do those plans in.
  • Unfortunately, all of the hospitals in my state have gone to this rule through the spring.  No kids under age 18 and no more than 4 visitors at once.  Huge bummer!
  • I just called my hospital and I am so sad that they will not allow my DD to visit when I have baby #2 in January.  I understand that they make these rules for everyone's safety, but I just can't understand why it makes sense that I can have 50 other random people come visit me as long as they are not my daughter!
