How much formula in one can?

How many ounces does the larger powder container make in total?  i'm just trying to compare costs for powder & liquid to see if it is that big of a difference.

for example does one larger can (20something oz) make 100oz of formula total....along those lines:)

thanks.

Re: How much formula in one can?

  • Oh god.  I have to do math.  24 oz (681 g) of powder in the can of Up & Up we use.  Each scoop is 8.8 g and so that is about 77 scoops per can.  Sooooooo you can make about 77 oz of formula per 24 oz can.  Can someone make sure I did that right...

  • the container of Similac we have is 20 (something) oz and makes 28-6oz bottles which would be around 168oz total.

Oops! It is actually 154 oz of formula because 1 scoop = 2 oz :)

  • I think the 28.1 oz Enfamil can (I think that's what it is- the one with 20% more) makes 201 fl oz.
  • We use Enfamil Premium Lipil and they just came out with a new "value box" That's supposed to make 58 4oz bottles = 232 oz for $31.79 (32.6 oz)(not including coupons). So ...

If LO takes 4 oz bottles at the max every 3 hours that's 8 bottles per day. So that'll last at least 7.25 days.

     $0.14 per ounce ... $0.55 per bottle ... $4.40 per day ... $30.80 per week.

    With a $5-off coupon:  $26.79 per box/can:

    $0.12 per ounce ... $0.46 per bottle ... $3.70 per day ... $25.87 per week.
