i was sick a few weeks ago with the flu. Since then, my milk supply is low. i know this because i can go several hours (like 5) and only pump 3 ounces.
In the past, I would pump like 6-7-8 if it had been 5 hours.
I know that I am not drinking alot, but besides drinking, what else can I do?
DD (6 months) is nursing every 3 hours when I am with her. She isnt as interested anymore and doesnt nurse as long. She acts satisfied though and I was just contributing it to becoming more efficient. But then when I am at work and pump, I get so little. Now, I wonder if she is getting enough?!? I dont know....can someone just tell me what to do, pretty please? What did you do?
Re: low milk supply.....wtd?

I was going through something similar this week, but today things are getting better. This past weekend, we traveled and I photographed a wedding. On Saturday, I nursed one time in the morning and once in the evening and didn't pump at all in between. I was so busy I just didn't even think to stop and pump. Then we had a 13 hour drive home, so I pumped the entire time and didn't nurse so we could keep driving.
Anyway, all week, I have added a pumping session right before I go to bed and I have been pumping an extra 5 minutes each session. I'm eating tons of oatmeal, and drinking so much water that I have to go to the bathroom every 1/2 hour, I think!
On Monday, I was only pumping maybe 4 ounces from both sides during the time when I'd usually have my best session and get around 8 ounces. Now today, I was back up to 7 oz during that session, so it is slowly improving.
If she seems satisfied, I wouldn't worry about her and I'd just do whatever I can to get my supply back up so that you can pump enough for her when you're away from her.
There is some more info here about this subject as well. https://workandpump.com/supply.htm
