Baby Names

Honost opinion on boy names...

It looks like we are having twin boys. We already have girl names picked out just in case we get a surprise, but I can't think of boy names that I'm sure of to save my life.

The only thing DH and I can agree on is Brody James and Reece (something). Dh likes Slade, but I'm not sure how I feel about Slade.

Can I get opinion on thses names please? Also if you have any ideas on middle names for them, I would love to hear!

UPDATE: I love all of the opinions! I think now I'm leaning towards Brody James and Rhys James

Re: Honost opinion on boy names...

  • I actually really like Brody James and Reece Slade. I think Reece Henry would be cute too.

  • Brody James is alright.  Nice name just nms.

Reece- I can't think of this as a boys name.  Otherwise ok.

What about Reid instead? More masculine, I think.

My understanding about the name Reece is it is both boy/girl. For a girl it is spelled Reese. For a boy it is either Reice or Reece. I learned this from all the baby books.

  • Is your ticker correct?  Can they tell you the definite sex(es) at 12 weeks?!

I think Brody and Reece sound good together.  Not a fan of Slade.

  • Love them all but Slade. Way nms.

  • i really like brody james but do not like reece for a boy at all. Reece (with a c or an s) sounds very feminine to me. I like the idea of Reid too. Slade makes me think of someone from an 80s metal band
  • I really like James and Reece is nice as well, though I prefer it spelled Rhys. I actually far prefer Reece on a boy to a girl.

I don't like Brody and I really don't like Slade. Sounds too much like "slate" or "slay" to my ears.

  • Reece is a boys name! Earth to humanity! It's like naming a girl Charlie. All fine and cute, but it's a BOY'S name. Love it. Love Brody too.
  • I love Brody James.

I like Reece, but prefer it spelled the Scottish way: Rhys.  Spelling it Reece reminds me of Reese Witherspoon and the candy.

Not a fan of Slade though.

I like the names Michael, Thomas, Joseph, David as middle names for Reece / Rhys.  I think traditional names paired with names that aren't as traditional sound good together.

  • I like James. Sorry, Im no big help!

  • I hate the name Slade. All the other names are great. I personally would go with the spelling Rhys. I am half Irish and prefer the Gaelic spelling. It also makes it look more masculine. While Reese is a boys name too many people associate that particular spelling with females.

  • I like James, but the other names are NMS at all.
  • I like Brody James, but do not like Slade or Reese for a boy.  I like Reid like the PP mentioned.  What about Tristan, Nathan, Tyler, Max, Mason, Caleb, or Nate.  I think those sound good with Brody.  Maybe another J middle name like Joseph would be cute.
  • Brody James is OK, NMS but not terrible. Reece Slade, not good at all, to me Reece is a girls name and Slade sounds made up...or worse it reminds me of Slader from Saved By The Bell. Sorry.

  • I love the name Brody! I like Reid better than Reece. I don't like the Rhys spelling, I think people will pronounce it "Rice or Rise." I don't like Slade that much.

I agree with this. I love Reid. I don't like Slade at all, and I think it's weird to give your boys the same mn.
