scratching face

so when do babies stop doing this? No matter what i do to his little nails, he keeps ripping his face apart. Overnight he managed to scratch from the top of his forehead to the middle of his nose, all in a straight line...what a mess!!! I cant take him anywhere now until it heals-people will think im abusing him or something...lol..

ps-the mittens are garbage..not an option..

get some sleepers/onesies with the foldover mittens.  those were all that worked for DD

the mittens suck- have you tried a "tight" pair of newborn socks? i put those on alex for the first couple days.

thankfully keeping her nails pretty short have helped- i also swaddle her at night. we'll see what happens when the swaddle comes off- eh!

DS keeps doing the same thing. We have tried the mittens....they are a turd sandwich! Tried the sock thing and he ripped them off too. As a matter of fact I went to take him out of his crib this morning and he had managed to wiggle out of his PJ pants.The kid hates being covered!

Yea..those mittens just didn't work for us either. I started to have her wear those onesie PJ's with the mittens that pulled over the fingers...they HELPED big time!!! Though, during the day, DD still scratches her face as well. I still haven't figured out this problem either!!
