WDYT about a different colored "focal" wall?

If it's a girl, we will be using a bedding set that has light and dark pinks in it. I think we'll do the whole room in a light pink but I was think about doing the wall that the crib will be on a darker pink so that I can paint a white tree on it.  I'm afraid that if I pain that white tree on the lighter pink that it won't show up. What do you think? Will that throw off the balance of the room or would that look nice to have one wall a "special" focal point?

  • My sister (okay she's 23) has a purple bedroom and has a focal wall that has a darker shade of purple on it ... it looks amazing. It's the wall with her bed on it. I'll tell you honestly I'm totally jealous and wish my bedroom were that nice. LOL.

DH and I have discussed what we're going to do in our LO's room and we're probably going to do a chocolate brown focal wall with the other walls being pink.

  • i'm doing a yellow focal wall and the other walls dark gray.  i think it would look great to do a different color for the tree.  and if it's dark enough pink, yes the white tree will show up.

  • I like them!  We have 2 in our house...one in the family room (khaki and a wine colored red) and one in our bedroom (khaki and a sage green).  We didn't do it in the nursery, but I'm a fan!
