Tylenol Sinus or Mucinex?

I just got off the phone with my OB's nurse because I have my yearly allergies that will turn into a sinus infection going on. I was freaked out about going to my GP and sitting in the waiting room with sick people, turns out I did the right thing by calling because she said I shouldn't go just for that reason! She said to take either the Tylenol Sinus or Mucinex and if I get a fever/chills/changes in color in my drainage (it is clear now) to call them back and they will call in a prescription for me. Let's hope the Neti pot and one or the other cure it first!

Any recs on one vs the other from yall?

I would vote for plain Tylenol and the Neti pot first to see if that helps. My ob/gyn always suggested not to take the combo meds if not needed. Take the least amount to do the job.

100% Mucinex. That stuff is fantastic. It not only breaks up the phlegm, it thins it too so it's easier to get out. I would absolutely take the Mucinex w/ the neti pot. (fwiw - my ENT recommended we keep Mucinex in the house and use it at the first sign of congestion. It really works well.)

Tylenol Sinus is Tylenol, a fairly low dose of Guaifenesin (which is what Mucinex is) and some Phenylephrine (the new Sudafed that you can't make meth from =P). Personally I think the Phenylephrine SUCKS and doesn't work on me. I'd recommend taking the Mucinex and some "behind the counter" old fashioned Sudafed. They have a 12 hour formulation but I can only take it in the morning because it is a stimulant and keeps me awake if I take it too late at night. You only need the Tylenol if you're having pain.
