re-cap- I posted last week asking about cancer ( my pap had a brain tumor that was cancerous) and why they would "stop" feeding someone. they took the feeding tube out of my pap, because the dr. said at the point he was at, the food and water was only hurting him, not helping him. It was hurting him because his body wasn't able to absorb or burn off the food anymore and because he was unable to burn energy keeping him hydrated would only cause swelling and pain. they said the best thing we could do was to bring him home and keep him comfortable. We were set to bring my pap home on saturday afternoon, but he died saturday morning :-/ It's been a rough couple of days, but we are glad he didn't suffer, the dr. said he had no pain. he died in the wee hours of the morning, so we weren't there, but the nurse said she held his hand and told him it was ok to go that we would all understand, and she said just like that he took his last breathe and past. We are all very sad and miss him deeply, but we know he's in a better place and full of life. thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, I know i'm not a "regular" nestie, so it really meant alot to me to have so many of you respond to me last week.
Re: update from my cancer post last week
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope it brings you comfort that he was not alone in the end.

What a blessing that the nurse was so kind. It's people like that who are in the right job.
