My top two girl name choices...

Melanie or Lacey. What do you think?

    Neither are really my style but I think I prefer Melanie. I'd be worried about how the name Lacey would mature.

    Well I am completely biased because my name is Lacey. 

    I LOVE my name and have received compliments all my life. I also love that you didn't spell it "Laci" ::cringe::

     The worst teasing I ever got was "spacey Lacey"  and that didn't bother me in the least.

    FWIW, my middle name is Michelle.  Honestly if I could have named my daughter Lacey I would have...I just thought it would be too weird/confusing.

    Both are very cutesy names. I like to consider the "meaning" of the names when we are choosing. Melanie means black or dark so I prefer Lacey for that reason for you.

    sorry, both are NMS.

    I think both are really pretty.  If I had to pick one, I think I'd go with Lacey.

    I love Melanie. Lacey is NMS. I wouldn't worry about the meaning dark....is that really such a bad meaning?

    I love both!   Very girly and pretty.  If I had to pick, I'm probably pick Lacey.  I picture a pretty girl/woman always with that name.  Same for Melanie...

    Neither are ms, but no one likes my names on here either so I may be very different:)  I prefer Lacey, Melanie reminds me of the 80's...

    My niece is Leyci so I have always liked that name.

    I would go with Melanie. It is a kids name and an adults name while Lacey is very child like.

    I LOVE Melanie. It's on our name list. It's so pretty and a classic yet underused. I think of Gone With the Wind. It's not an 80s name like pp said. I don't know any Melanies (and I was born in the 80s) so to say it's an 80s name doesn't make sense in my experience. I just adore this name!!

    I don't like Lacey at all. My friend had a mom named Lacey and she was a stripper so that's what I think of...
