Up until about 26 weeks, I could tell that the baby was still breech... his/her head was even with my belly button and their feet were down at the bottom of my belly. It was awesome! I was feeling huge punches and kicks all the time. As was my DH.
Well... things have changed. Now the baby is laying across the very bottom of my uterus. I know this for sure because of two things. One - the hysterical L&D nurse last week who was getting the heartbeat and said, "Oh my gosh. Your baby is in your vagina!" Of course she was just kidding, but that's how low it is. And the internal u/s I had when leaving the hospital. We weren't supposed to be able to see the baby, they were really only looking at my cervix to make sure it was closed. Well, it showed my cervix, bladder, and *surprise* the baby's entire back and head!
I am so bummed too because I am not feeling the kicks like I was. I mean, I can feel them, but they are all so low. The baby kicks me in the bladder all day long. My DH can't feel the baby anymore either. The kicks that I used to be able to see from the outside, now only I can feel. I feel like the baby is turned so that all of them go inward towards my back ![]()
Sorry to be a complainer. I am thrilled to still be pregnant after my little scare. We get another u/s on Friday because of my fibroids. I am hoping that there is still tons of room for the baby. I have a feeling that my they are starting to crowd it. 13cm, 8cm, and 5cm at last check. I hope they haven't grown too much more!
Re: Carrying so low! Anyone else?
I feel you. My LO has spent the majority of her time since 20 weeks lying transverse with her butt rammed into my cervix (as confirmed by u/s). Last week she turned and for the first time ever I felt movement above my belly button. I was so excited. Unfortunately she has reverted back to her comfy spot and now spends all her time playing with my hip bones again.
She needs to get it together in the next couple of weeks and assume the position.
Daisy.. is baby still transverse but just way low?
I wouldn't worry about not feeling so much movement right now. When our kid finally decided to go head down, the kicks and movement picked up again with a vengeance! I swear my ribs are bruised on the inside.
As for the fibroids... any of them degenerating or are they just maintaining their size? My advice is for you to know exactly where they sit, so if you start feeling pain in those spots, they might be degenerating. It was pretty awful for a week or more, but the pain did finally subside.
For the most part, my big fibroid isn't in the way (it's up high and degenerating) and my OB warned me that it may pass when we deliver. Meaning a big, messy bunch of blood after the kid comes out. She just doesn't want me to freak out if there's a ton of blood.

My u/s Friday will give us more info. I am mainly having it because of the fibroids. I have had no pain associated with them, so as far as I can tell they are either the same or bigger. I know what type they are and where they are too. Mine aren't in the way (of the exit) either, so that's good
The only one that is low is the smallest and it's also the only one on the outside of my uterus. And my doctor also warned me of the bleeding after birth. He said it in more of a "it could be dangerous for you" kind of way.
Thanks for comparing notes with me!
