Ok, would this bother you?

It's just a couple dollars, but the whole principle just irks me.

On ebay, I was looking at a lot of 4 pj's for DS. The buy it now price was $12.00 or best offer and shipping was $6.50. I thought-what the heck, I'll make an offer for $10.50. About an hour later, I received a notice that I bought this item for $10.50, so the seller accepted my offer. Ok, but then I noticed that the shipping was now $8.00, so she just taked on the extra $1.50 to the shipping. What good was making an offer then?

Like I said, it's petty, but I'm kind of annoyed.

Happy 4th birthday!

  • Yeah, that would irritate me.  I would question the seller.

  • Yes that would irritate me as well just on the principle of the matter. I would definitely call her on it.

  • Yes, that would bother me.  You didn't make an offer for $10.50 just so you could add the savings onto the shipping.  I would tell her that you wanted the transaction canceled or to reduce the shipping back to what it was on the listing.

  • Yea.  Not the $1.50, but the fact that she is being sneaky.
  • Urk...  I have about a 1 in 4 fail rate on Ebay, where something ends up not being what I thought it was, but it can be a little fun.  I mostly buy stuff for the kids, so even if I "fail" and over pay for something, it is still a small amount and I have gotten some great deals (18 my little ponies for $13.00!)

This.  Plus the fact that she thinks she's going to "pull one over" on you.
