Can someone please explain to me how/why I should be sleeping in certain positions? I feel like I read somewhere (during my last pregnancy) that I should sleep on my left side. Is this true? And I feel like I've figured out from different posts that I'm not supposed to sleep on my back. Is this true? Does anyone know why? Thanks!
Re: Sleeping position...
The back is ok until later on... but I think it is easier to stop now. The back is bad because it can limit her movement and blood flow and cut off circulation for you when youare BIG...
Sleeping on your left side is best because it maximizes blood flow to the fetus while minimizing the baby pushing on your nerves etc.
if you find it hard to stay on your side, I really recommend the snoogle pillow. I Lurve mine.
Ditto! LOVE my snoogle!

I'm not sure, but I think it's once you have a bump. It's probably most important during the mid 2nd tri through 3rd tri, but again I'm not sure. I've starting trying to sleep on my side now just to get used to it. Having a body pillow really helps.
