anyone foregoing intercourse until after birth?

I'm in yet another 2 ww, but I was wondering that since my water broke last time due to infection (an unknown infection causing chorioamniotitus sp?) that maybe it'll be best for hubby and I to abstain from intercourse next go-around.

I know I'll be able to do it (I was so exhausted and sick), but I do worry about the hubs. 9months (god willing) and 6 + weeks. hmmm.

Most OBs will tell you there is no reason to abstain unless you are having some sort of complications/ I think the odds on the infection are super small. That said, I know how scary it is. DH and I didn't do anything during the entire 1st tri because I was too nervous and tired too. I was hoping for that increase in urge during 2nd tri but so far haven't had it. I found the few times we did go there it was really uncomfortable and not enjoyable for me. I am still trying to help DH out though because I feel bad for him. His libido isn't crushed by the hormones like mine has been.

not by choice but I've been on pelvic rest since my BFP and DH is doing fine with it. I'd ask your OB and see what they think, if you have to do it you have to do it!

We've had sex once since our bfp and I bled the next day. Thank goodness the baby was fine, but I had an u/s and there was blood behind the placenta and my ob said hitting the cervix probably caused it. She said if I wanted to stay sane then not to do it. Dunno how long she had in mind but DH is not talking me into anytime soon! I'll "help" him out sometimes, other then that he has two hands. And he would rather not put the baby as risk as well so he doesnt mind.

We had sex for the 1st time after getting my bfp at 17 wks. We haven't done it since and have no plans to until after he's born. We both know it's safe but neither of us are into it.

It's not that we are foregoing sex, it's just that I have no desire to have sex.  The last time we tried I was just really uncomfortable and didn't enjoy it at all.  DH is fine with it, even though the doctor gave us the all clear I think he still feels nervous that something is going to go wrong.  Although I am insanely jealous of women who say pregnant sex is the best.

We haven't done it yet.  I'm skeerd.  I have had no spotting during this pregnancy and I"m terrified if we do it, I will.  Maybe in a few weeks.  I just really don't feel like it anyway!

We have chosen to not do anything, we lost our baby in May due to IC and infection, I have a very sensitive cervix so even having an orgasm causes me to have some spotting so we aren't doing anyting, I have a very strong libido and so does DH and it is very hard for me. It's hard for me not to have an orgasm, if this was sex and the city, I am Miranda. I keep telling myself and DH the love of our child is more important and I don't know if I can bare having another late loss.
