  • I can sooo totally help you there!

I've been pregnant eight times.  The first one went to term, and the most recent one, but the others didn't make it.  TWO were ectopic.

My first ectopic pregnancy was caught early enough to extract with laproscopy, and they left the tube in there.  As it turns out, that maybe needed more attention during our attempts at conception again, since the very next time I got pregnant it was ectopic in the same side.  This time, though, no one believed me when I went to the hospital and said I suspected a second ectopic, and they treated it like a miscarriage.  Well, it ruptured very dramatically by that evening, and I lost the tube and ovary on the left, as well as enough blood to need two full transfusions.

After that, I still had no trouble getting pregnant.  I have other risk factors that make staying pregnant difficult, but the ectopic history and having only half my reproductive tract intact hasn't hurt my chances at all.  I just gave birth last Wednesday to a beautiful baby girl, and she's healthy and thriving!

Good luck, I'll cross my fingers for you!

  • I haven't had an ectopic myself but last year my BFF had an ectopic that resulted in major surgery and the loss of one fallopian tube. She is expecting a little boy in less than 4 weeks,

    Good luck.
