Okay, if there were a website that allowed you to "register" for baby items and allowed your family and friends to find them used/pre-owned would you have used it ?

For the most part I hate buying brand new over priced stuff..with the exception of stuff that isn't safe to buy used. I thought it would be cool if there was an easier way for family and friends to get you the stuff you need without having to pay out the wah-zoo and it's more eco friendly.

www.myregistry.com allows you to register for anything you can find on the internet, and (I believe) lets people say they've purchased items from your registry even if they don't do the transaction through the site (if they were to do it in a brick & mortor store, or even goodwill/garage sale) so that might work.  You may want to look into that a bit.

Hmmmm, so really the concept would be for you to register for WHAT you want and not have friends/family limited to WHERE they can get it from (BRU, Target, etc).  Only caveat to this, is each guest would have to go online...or however it is set up, to "mark" each item as being purchased.

I like the idea of it. For example: my SIL registered for one of those JJ Cole BundleMe carseat covers. At the place she registered, it cost over $40. I found the same exact one at TJMaxx for $15.  Of course I bought it, but then had to figure out a way to get it off her registry so nobody else got her one too. I ended up telling BIL so he could adjust their registry online.
